Visvin 30 mg contains decitabine, a chemotherapy medicine used to treat certain blood and bone marrow cancers. It belongs to a class of drugs called hypomethylating agents and is especially helpful in conditions where the bone marrow does not produce healthy blood cells. Visvin is typically given under the supervision of a specialist in a hospital or clinic setting. Its use has become a valuable option for patients with difficult-to-treat blood disorders.
Mechanism of Action
Decitabine works at the DNA level. In some cancers, specific genes that should help control cell growth are switched off due to abnormal DNA methylation. Decitabine helps by reducing this methylation, thereby reactivating these important genes. This allows the cancerous cells to stop growing and may even lead them to die in a controlled way. Over time, it also supports the bone marrow in making healthier blood cells.
