Bronchonib 150 mg

Bronchonib 150 mg

Bronchonib 150 mg contains nintedanib, a targeted medication used in the treatment of certain progressive lung conditions and specific types of cancer. It is primarily prescribed for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic and progressive disease that leads to scarring of the lung tissue. Nintedanib is also used in chronic fibrosing interstitial lung diseases with a progressive phenotype and systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease. Additionally, it may be used in combination with chemotherapy for some forms of non-small cell lung cancer. Bronchonib works to slow down disease progression and preserve lung function over time.

Mechanism of Action
Nintedanib works by blocking several types of enzymes called tyrosine kinases, which are involved in the formation of blood vessels and the growth of fibroblasts and other cells that contribute to lung scarring and tumor growth. Specifically, it inhibits receptors such as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor, fibroblast growth factor receptor, and platelet-derived growth factor receptor. By targeting these pathways, Bronchonib helps to reduce inflammation and slow the formation of scar tissue in the lungs. In cancer, it helps limit the supply of nutrients and blood to tumors, slowing their progression.

Uses
Bronchonib is mainly used for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a condition where lung tissue becomes thickened and stiff, making it hard to breathe. It is also approved for use in chronic fibrosing interstitial lung diseases with a progressive nature and in interstitial lung disease related to systemic sclerosis. In the field of oncology, nintedanib may be combined with other cancer drugs for patients with non-small cell lung cancer, especially those with adenocarcinoma subtype after initial treatment failure.

Adverse Effects
Like all medications, Bronchonib may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. The most common side effect is diarrhea, which may require supportive treatment or dose adjustment. Other common effects include nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, abdominal pain, and liver enzyme elevations. Some people may feel tired or develop weight loss over time. Serious but less common side effects include liver injury, bleeding risks, and cardiovascular events. Regular monitoring of liver function and overall health is recommended throughout the treatment period.
