Lysiprin 1000

Lysiprin 1000

Lysiprin 1000 contains Levetiracetam, an antiepileptic (anti-seizure) medication. It is commonly prescribed to help control different types of seizures in people with epilepsy. It is suitable for use in both adults and children, depending on the clinical need and dosage. Mechanism of Action
Levetiracetam works by binding to a protein called SV2A (synaptic vesicle protein 2A) in the brain. This protein is involved in the release of neurotransmitters that help nerve cells communicate. By modifying this process, Levetiracetam helps to stabilize electrical activity in the brain, thereby reducing the likelihood of seizures.

Uses
Lysiprin 1000 is used for:

  • Partial-onset seizures, with or without secondary generalization

  • Myoclonic seizures, often in patients with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy

  • Generalized tonic-clonic seizures, especially in cases of idiopathic generalized epilepsy

  • Can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antiepileptic drugs

    Adverse Effects
Levetiracetam is usually well tolerated, but some people may experience:

    • Drowsiness, fatigue, or dizziness

    • Mood changes, including irritability, aggression, or depression

    • Headache or sleep disturbances

    • In rare cases, behavioral changes, such as anxiety or suicidal thoughts, especially in younger patients
