Mechanism of Action

Enalapril inhibits the ACE enzyme, which normally converts angiotensin I into angiotensin II—a powerful hormone that narrows blood vessels and raises blood pressure. Uses

Enapril  is used for:

  Adverse Effects

  Common side effects may include:

  • Low blood pressure, leading to dizziness or light-headedness, especially after taking it

  Less frequent but important effects:

  • Elevated liver enzymes or signs of liver injury (e.g., yellowing of the skin/eyes, loss of appetite); these may be rare but serious
