Bioclan contains clindamycin hydrochloride, an antibiotic widely used in veterinary medicine for treating bacterial infections in dogs. It is especially effective against infections involving bones, teeth, skin, and internal organs. Bioclan belongs to the lincosamide class of antibiotics and is often chosen when other antibiotics are less effective or when deep tissue penetration is needed.

Mechanism of Action:
Clindamycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, preventing them from producing essential proteins needed for their survival and multiplication. This results in either slowing down the growth of bacteria or killing them, depending on the concentration and the type of bacteria involved.

Uses:
Bioclan is commonly prescribed for dogs to treat:

• Dental infections such as abscesses or gum disease

• Bone infections like osteomyelitis

• Skin and soft tissue infections including wounds, abscesses, or cellulitis

• Infections caused by anaerobic bacteria or certain protozoal infections, such as toxoplasmosis

  Adverse Effects:
  While most dogs respond well to Bioclan, some may experience side effects. These may include:
