Pantotec 40 mg contains Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat conditions caused by excessive gastric acid. It helps soothe symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, and promote healing in peptic ulcer disease and erosive esophagitis.
Mechanism of Action
Pantoprazole works by binding irreversibly to the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase enzyme (the proton pump) in the stomach lining. This action blocks the final step of acid secretion, substantially reducing gastric acid and allowing irritation and ulcerated tissue to heal.

-
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive reflux esophagitis
-
Peptic ulcer disease, including NSAID-associated ulcers
